Meet the basic point requirements, 65 points (through a higher number increases your prospects)

Skilled Occupations & Skill Assessment

High-demand jobs in Australia have been identified by the Australian government through the Skilled Occupation List. If you are an engineer, healthcare provider, or tradesperson, and your occupation is on this list, you may be eligible to apply. But eligibility isn’t solely based on the occupation; your skills need to be officially assessed and recognized.

You have a skill assessment conducted by an authorized authority based on your profession. The process ensures that your experience, qualifications, and competence are on par with local industry standards. Getty Migration assists you in identifying the proper assessing authority and submitting the proper documents to avoid rejection or delay.

How Do You Get an Invitation?

Once your skills are assessed and you have submitted your EOI on SkillSelect, you will be allocated to an applicant pool. Australian territories, states, or the commonwealth may invite you to submit a skilled visa application based on your point score, occupation demand, and other factors for suitability. Invitations usually go out to applicants with higher point scores, higher qualifications, priority field experience, or regional Australia ties.

The Point Test

Australia uses an open, points-based system to assess applicants for skilled migration. Points are determined based on age, English language, Australian and foreign experience, education, and others such as state nomination, regional study, and partner skills. While 65 is a baseline requirement, obtaining 80+ points is going to make a significant difference to your invitation prospects.
